I am a Filipina-American woman with a deep devotion to supporting people in their growth and healing. I am also dedicated to multiculturalism, to social justice and social change, and to my extended family. I grew up in Oakland, California. After high school, I began working for the telephone company and stayed there for many years, until I was offered an early retirement. I took this opportunity to go back to school and earn my Bachelors degree from UC Berkeley, graduating in the same class as my younger son. I went on to complete my Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy at John F. Kennedy University's School of Holistic Studies in 2002. I am a somatic psychotherapist, with two years of comprehensive training in the Hakomi method. As a somatic therapist, I facilitate growth in my clients that is not only on the level of thoughts and feelings, but also rooted deeply in body feeling. I have found that healing on this level is a very profound and often long-lasting experience for my clients. I work with individual adults, couples, children and families.
In addition to my work as a therapist, I am a mother and a grandmother, an activist, and a free spirit.
